Bangkok + Pattaya Trip 4

today have to wake much more early than usual...as we needed 2 take 1.5+ hours journey to reach the Damnoen Saduak floating market...120 baht for the taxi fare...very reasonable..and the taxi drive is very friendly...had a lotsa laughter during the boring journey...hahahahaa~~ esp, chua...no suprise if i see him beat by 1 sum1 sumday along the roadside....haha, he deserve tat..

On our way to the floating market, where stupid tk holding my stupid 3rd tripod...

reached the so called port, and took boat to reach floating market, 20baht per person...it needs 10-15 mins to reach the happening floating market, on da way...wat we could see there were only stalls on the river, few meter between each stall...we started to think, we were going to the wrong place...until we reach a canal...which was so happening...! having water traffic jam...LOL...the traffic was so heavy...oric said, why going everywhere we met wif traffic jam, even during vacation, even on the water way...OMG...!

where da journey started

so worried this is the so called floating market, which bring no meaning to us...until...see below!!

took about 1hr for the tour, simply interesting...esp the traffic...LOL...

the next destination was ChatuChak Weekend market! a very HUGE market, 1 stop shopping spot where you can get anything u want...clothes, furniture, food, pets, shoes...bla bla bla...tk, chua n oric splited wif him n i...then just WALKED for an hour i guess den proceed to Sing K...haha...but pity them...been told that the karaoke only hav 2 male single and all westlife song...*laugh my lungs out*

he n i shopped abt 3 hrs, the weather that killed, we went back hotel and SLEPT!! haha...till tk they all back...den we proceed to Siam Paragon, today is shopping day!! and i love paragon!! muakx muakx muakx~~~ bought a lot, wallet a big hole...hehe

after siam paragon, those guys wanted to enjoy bangkok nite life, they said it's a waste if we didnt visit pub and disco in bangkok...ended up...i followed...well, it was a crazy nite, crazy music, crazy dancing...COOL!! haha!!

stayed till midnite and i couldnt bear any longer, as i drunk too much, we ordered johnny walker...YUCKS!! head was spinning, backed hotel and straight away SLEPT...other than sleep, i wasnt sure wat else i could do with everything spinning around me!!

Bangkok + Pattaya Trip 3

came to the 3rd day...and u will see my entry bcome shorter and shorter...*grin*

took the breakfast and proceed to the 1st extraction...which is the Vimanmek mansion...stepped out from the hotel...again, feel dying walking in tat kinda of weather, hot and often humid...!! took the cab straight...and reached in 15mins times...which cost 75baht...i wonder if this can happen in malaysia? often we cant find cab wif reasonable price...or i because i dun have much experience on this??

our hotel, waiting for the cab

Vimanmek mansion belongs to one of the Thai King, The King Rama V...this mansion was 1st permanent residence in the Dusit Garden, and in this Dusit garden/Dusit Palace there are several building and monument which i wasnt so sure about the stories, just truly impressed with their architecture..!

the ticket to visit all the buildings and galleries in this Dusit palace is 100baht, pretty worth! following the map, we 1st passed by their royal photography exhibition hall...we just took photo, not sure whether it is open for visit...da next was the Abhisek Dusit Throne Hall...initially was used for state occassions but later on was renovated and open for visit 2 displays arts and crafts produced in Thailand...

royal photography exhibition hall

Abhisek Dusit Throne Hall, it's cool!

oh, sumthg i missed out...we were not aware tat a strict dress code applies here...so we all forced to buy a big pc of clothes and wore as sarung...kinda stupid...as every1 tot we are freak!!

took a while in the Abhisek Dusit Throne Hall..nth interesting 2 me, no way for me to understand ART...da next to visit was Ananta Samakorn Throne Hall...well, i dunno how to appreciate art...but this building and everythings inside it, the architexture, the exhibition, the interior design...everything is magnificient, find no words to describe, unless u see it with ur own eyes!

well, it was very lucky that today is the official launching day for the exhibition, inside you will get to understand to see what are those thgs that the royal family, like king and queen are using...i couldnt name them out...too long and hard to remember, but in general, is like the several types of chair dey are using, the bed...and other cultural stuff...all specially made when there is big occasion like king 80th birthday or queen birthday...sumthg like this...

since it's the 1st official launching day, the security was very very strict, esp u know thailand, every1 pay full respect to the royal family...! we have to buy the clothes to cover our feet as we wore shorts and sandals...too bad! made us walk like creep!! and no photo is allow...too bad again!

the only picture to show u...

b4 going for lunch, visit da last seems-to-be cool building... :p The large main building consists of two wings at right angles in an "L" shape. Most of the building is three stories high, but the octagonal tower at the end of one wing, which is where King Rama V actually resided, is four stories... the whole building have 4 types of colour, not sure 4 da meaning...hehe

half of it was in renovation...and u can laugh ur lungs out if u feel tat he is too funny wearing the sarung thg

pic at the maingate, oric seemed to be proud of wat he was wearing...

visited the last building and proceed for lunch in Pratunam...in a foodcourt in 1 of da shopping complex, namely Platinum...we ordered quite a lot, but i took only photos 4 2...too hungry..huh?

Phad Thai, something like kueh tiew, but sweet and lil' sour, food you musnt miss, as it's thailand specialities...

snack for thai i guess, can see this everywhere. fried quail...taste nice, but it reminds me of cholestrol!

find it too hot to walk under the sun...time for shopping...went MBK...is one of the famous shopping malls in Bangkok city, a much loved destination for the young people and schoolgirls for their evening outing, i guess...most are young shopper...nth really caught my attention except the Converse shop...big favourite for me!

cute, right? my shoes to work *wink*

took the dinner in there as well...simply choose 1 of the restaurant, 1 stop restaurant which consists of food of various countries, japanese, western, italian and thai...nth special anyway...

in the menu, they called it ORANGE juice, but i found it's in fact, mandarin juice, love it...order this in all the restaurant i visited...

really tired to walked the whole day...went bck hotel for bathing...and rest...

went out again at 10pm...to SKY BAR...! wanted 2 hav a visit so long...!! just too yearn to go! der is nothing 2 match da stunning 63rd floor, under-the-stars setting of Thailand’s loftiest restaurant/bar...we enjoyed a bird's eye view of this sprawling metropolis while sipping the beers and liquor...baileys was my order, there is no way i will hate it!! u really got 2 visit this, trust me, u will have no regret...even the drinks is expensive...haha...

that's my 3rd day...good 1...TO BE CONTINUE..........

Bangkok + Pattaya Trip 2

here comes the 2nd day!! where the REAL journey started!

yeah yeah! woke abt 7am n took our buffet breakfast in hotel @ 8am...

well, we stayed in Bangkok City Suite. Abt rm80 per nite, with buffet breakfast provided for everyday. the hotel is 3 stars and importantly, the bathroom is clean...thg i most care when choosing a hotel...also, very near town.

our 1st destination was Grand Palace! If there is one must-see sight that no visit to Bangkok would be complete without, it's the dazzling, spectacular Grand Palace, undoubtedly the city's most famous landmark.

we got to GP by boat, docked at Center Pier and bought the ticket which cost 120baht for unlimited ride along da Chao Phraya river, there, u will get to see the serene family homes and temples dotted along the waterways which inspired Bangkok's reference as the "Venice of the East"

waiting for the boat

We went down at Pier 9, and walked for 200m to reach the Grand Palace. Seriously, i was amazed by thai architecture! it's simply stunning...of course, AWESOME!

da admission to the Temple of the Emerald Buddha and the Central Court of the Grand Palace is 250 Baht (RM25+/-), note that the admission fee also includes an admission ticket to Vinanmek Museum that can be used within seven days of your Grand Palace visit, we were so blur as we bought ticket for double entry and realized only when we already in Malaysia. *gong*

1 important thg colleague reminded me was there is strict dress code for visiting the Grand Palace. where no short, no sleeveless, no sandals/flip-flop is allowed. :) we were all well prepared, yet this drove me crazeee, wearing long pants walking in oven it's killing!

not to 4get, you may get visited Wat Phra Kaew, by using same entrance ticket...anyway, visiting the Grand palace enough to make us sweat like hell, it is so HUGE and CROWDED as today is 1st May!!
Pictures say a thousand words...

finally found the entrance after went into 3 wrong entrance -___-

pretty impress wif the craving skill

hand(or feet) of Dragon?

the sissies...:p

oric snapped this while we were taking break due to the killing weather...simply adore this photo...

all of us couldnt stand for da weather da 1st day, perharps still not get use to it...perharps, tat day was having the most terrible weather...we took lunch abt 12pm...simply choose a thai restaurant, where we could enjoy the aircons...cooling n refreshing...!!

kinda expansive and small portion, yet we finished 'em all...simply appetizing, especially the TomYam soup

didnt feel like continue the journey after lunch...sleepy n lazee...hehe...!! anyhow, continue to explore da bangkok by visiting WAT PO...it's the largest temple in Bangkok and famed for its huge and majestic reclining Buddha measured 46 metres long and covered in gold leaf. The entrance fees is 50 baht.

big big sleeping buddha

i dunno what the towers behind meant...sum1?

took 1 hour there, and we really keeled over...not even visited the famous Wat arun, temple of dawn, which is very near to us...made decision not to continue and wanted to back 2 hotel and rest...so, from Pier 8 we took the boat again...

half way, we found there is a cafe wif air cond, immediately jump down from the boat and get ourself some refreshment...rest for little while and went back to hotel for shower...

6pm sharp, journey started again :p went to CHina Town to grabbed the dinner~~ many ppl recommanded me to try the shark fin n birdnest at the china town...well, let's give it a try *wink*

simply find a restaurant and started to order, tomyam again...n my favourite grass noodle cooked wif prawn...

every1's favourite except stupid tk who dare not try any spicy food

my favourite!! smell so great, and the prawn is super big!! anyway...i dun adore prawn...but the grass noodle is wonderful!!

fried oyster...wow! the oyster is superb!

vege is a must, prevent constipation...haha..else tmr cant pangsai!!!

i fall in love wif goose after last macau trip! try this...*thumb up*

we took the 100baht per bowl bird nest as our dessert, too bad we didnt snap any photos...anyhow, da bird nest is so so only...rm10 only, wat u expect more, right? the whole dinner cost us 2000baht+++...expansive but not really impressive...wif this price i believe i can grab somethg better...

we were all so full...sight-seeing in china town, but really found nth could really catch our attention...so we proceed to Khao San road earlier...Khao San rd and the surrounding area, definately a place that worth a visit, is a maze of hotels, guesthouses, travel agents, restaurants, pubs, clubs… Whatever you are looking for! esp for ppl like us, travelers and budget tourists...

wandered and shopped along the rd, and we found there is many "cocktail stall", where you will get to see da stall is having all kinda liqour and they offer u cocktail, all u need to do is pay and sit along da road n enjoys your drinks! kinda funny, but cool~~

like da kids tat share drinks..

kinda fall in love wif khao san road nightlife, about 10++, Khao San Road's clubs kick into life!! These play mostly hip-hip, house and pumping pop, alongside a dash of indie, rock and reggae. wow...Very eclectic! we too, placed ourselves in one of the pub, namely Silk Bar and grabbed some drink

ordered a tower of heineken...
and

Singha beer, the oldest Thai beer...da taste is really "normal", meaning it could go for almost any other brand you know and there is no specific character for this beer...hehe, but i would prefer this more than carlsberg...

we got ourselves a jar, however, i 4got to snap any photo of it... :p

tat's my day!! omost perfect...until kam kong chua keep forcing us to say we are drunk when he is omost drunk!! pls be sane la, chua!!

p/s: i doubts i have da patient 2 continue da stories till da last day of my trips...took me 3 days to finish this post...pardon me!
